The stadium was born from disaster yes, but it has reatained a huge degree of what has made Rangers Football Club the Institution it is today, rather than destroying the whole existing stadium, Glasgow Rangers built around the famous and extraordianary Red brick facade of the beautiful main stand.This remains to this day.The cost implications of retaining this listed building were imense,yet to owner David Murray this was inconsequnetial when redoveloping his almost completed Stadium.A fact which must surely haunt Rangers greatest foes Celtic as they watched the birth of their own new stadium on a shoestring budget designed for quick easy fixes rather then aesthetic and long term joy !
